Röyksopp

Röyksopp has been making music since the late 1990s but I as well and many others were not exposed to said music until an insurance company decided to replace their little green gecko with some self-conscious cavemen. Regardless, their music is absolutely phenomenal so if you have yet to check them out, you've been missing out on 10 years of great music. With a pretty large back-catalog, 3 full length albums out already (one in early 2009) and another expected to drop this year, it is a great time to delve into Röyksopp.

Highlights:

The Girl And The Robot from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

Happy Up Here from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

Only This Moment from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

What Else Is There? from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

Poor Leno from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

Remind Me from Röyksopp on Vimeo.

The Commercial We All Remember (Stateside at least)

and a fan-made video of one of my favorite Röyksopp tunes(& favorite films):

Frankmusik

In an effort to go back and forth with well known and not so famous acts I am posting a relatively new act. So following the legendary M83 is a young act not yet legendary. Former beatboxer, Frankmusik is an up and coming musician to be reckoned with. Super funky basslines and catchy lyrics are the tools used by Frankmusik to bring the 80's disco-funk pop sound back. His first full album is expected to drop in June 2009.
Posted below are some of my favorites by Frankmusik:

M83

Master of the synths, M83 has been making music since 2001. But not until 2005 with the release of 'before the dawn heals us' (and the departure of nicolas fromageau) did they produce a sound that cannot be described as anything less than infectious. M83 has continued to ride a wave of success since, releasing 'saturdays = youth' in 2008; which to be frank, is nothing short of breathtaking.
here are some of the highlights of m83's career:

M83 - Kim and Jessie from Mute Records on Vimeo.

Graveyard Girl from purnell on Vimeo.

M83 - We Own the Sky from Mute Records on Vimeo.

M83 "Don't Save Us From The Flames" from Matthew Frost on Vimeo.

M83 - MOONCHILD from Evan Lane on Vimeo.
